I’m #TeamJeff with this one.
Interior designer turned reality star Jeff Lewis constantly makes headlines these days for spilling the tea on his radio show and this is no exception.
Jeff appeared on Radio Andy with his Bravo boss Andy Cohen, and admitted he was angry with the WWHL host for constantly joking about wanting to date his ex-boyfriend Gage Edward.
Their confrontational conversation went a little something like this:
Jeff: “Once in a while you will say, you know…You used to joke a lot about wanting to date Gage.”
Andy: “I know, and I stopped the second that you broke up.”
Jeff: “You actually did not. You kept going with it. And actually, you said it recently.”
Side note: Jeff is right. During their ten year relationship, Andy always joked about having a crush on Gage (who doesn’t?). Andy was definitely lying when he said he stopped making jokes the second they broke up because last month, he reacted to Jeff posting a photo with his new boyfriend by joking about bringing Gage to an upcoming Radio Andy event in Los Angeles.
Hook line and sinker. The conversation continued with Lewis saying:
Jeff: “You did mention something about bringing Gage, and it did hurt my feelings. It was different when we were dating and you would joke, but now that we’re not together and it was a tough breakup — I just wanted to say that I prefer you not to say that.”
Andy apologized for the joke and then turned the tables to air his own grievances with Jeff by saying he was offended he didn’t reach out after his child was born. The conversation went:
Andy: “I thought it was odd that I never heard from you after the birth of my child.”
Jeff: “Are you kidding me? I even asked about sending a gift, and you said, ‘Absolutely don’t send me a gift, because I’ve received thousands of gifts.’”
Andy: “I definitely did not want a gift. But you didn’t reach out. Look at our text history.”
Jeff: “I am so sorry if I didn’t, but you were always in my thoughts and I did ask to send a gift… Okay, I’m going to be honest with you, I was a little shocked when I found out you had a baby. You were kind of the last person on earth that I thought, at this stage, would have a child.”
Andy then interjected asking if Jeff was mad he didn’t tell him privately he was having a baby before he announced the news on WWHL, because he did see him only two days prior, however, Jeff says that wasn’t the problem. He explained:
Jeff: “I a big mouth, I can’t keep a secret, I understand why you wouldn’t tell me. I was just surprised you were having a child because doing it on your own is so brave, and it’s not something I ever would have been able to do on my own… I never would have had Monroe if Gage wasn’t by my side.”
I guess they’re good? I don’t really care but what’s worse, making a joke about dating your ex or not acknowledging your friend's child? That reminds me of someone else that didn’t acknowledge the birth of a child...
