Bethenny Frankel Reveals The Real Reason She Quit RHONY
The Skinnygirl mogul is speaking facts!
Although I still haven’t fully processed the fact that Bethenny Frankel won’t appear on the upcoming season of The Real Housewives of New York City, she finally admitted the real reason she left the hit reality show.
In an interview with Yahoo Finance (random source, I know) Bethenny denied rumors she left over money and explained her decision to leave was based purely on her gut. She shared:
“It wasn’t about money. When I joined the uh, housewives, everyone told me not to do it and I went with my gut to do it. And when I thought about leaving, everyone told me not to leave and I went with my gut to leave.”
She also shared, the main reason behind her exit was because she never wants to be the last one at the party. Bethenny is a smart girl and could obviously see the Housewives franchise starting to decline and got off the ship while she was on a high note. Bethenny explained:
“Leaving the housewives was because I think that I just didn’t want to be at the party where my eyelashes were falling off at two o’clock in the morning, not literally on the show, which that would happen also, but the metaphorical eyelash-hanging-off party. I like to leave when something for me is at its peak and I was talking to Bravo about many different things and I just decided let’s roll, it’s time to go.”
Although she’s no longer on the show, Bethenny revealed what she’ll miss most and to no one's surprise, it involves money. The reality star turned mogul told the interviewer:
“It wasn’t that easy to leave because I was being paid very, very well. And I like the comedy. I miss the comedic outlet.”
She’s not wrong, the New York Housewives are comedic geniuses without knowing and Bethenny was probably the only cast member who was self-aware enough to be intentionally funny on the franchise. Also, for anyone thinking she’ll be back on the show in three years, like she did last time, don’t hold your breath because she’s officially over being a Housewife (for now). Bethenny said:
“I don’t want to be on everyone’s television everywhere and that audience, I already know. I’ve already connected with that audience. I would like to connect with a new audience in a different platform.”
